West Ham United will double Liverpool target Jarrod Bowen’s wages in order to stay the London Stadium for years to come.
The Hammers may have missed out on the top four but have enjoyed another fine season under David Moyes.
A run to the Europa League semi-finals was beyond anybody’s wildest dreams and the future looks very bright at the London Stadium.
The key to any further West Ham progress is keeping key players at the club.
Declan Rice is one of them and winger Bowen is another, with West Ham hoping to keep both.
West Ham United will double Liverpool target Jarrod Bowen’s wages
The Daily Mail now report that West Ham are keen to out a new contract with Bowen.
Bowen allegedly earns around £60,000-a-week but West Ham are prepared to double that all the way up to £120,000-a-week.
David Moyes has allegedly given this deal his blessing and wants to see Bowen stay at West Ham for a while yet.
How Bowen feels about the deal is unclear but staying at West Ham has to be an attractive option to the winger.
Bowen is going from strength to strength under Moyes and looks set for England recognition in the near future.
The 25-year-old just scored twice against Manchester City and has now taken his tally for the season to 12 goals and 10 assists in 35 Premier League games.
Bowen has been so good that Jamie Carragher compared him to Robbie Fowler whilst branding him ‘absolutely fantastic’.
This new deal would be vital for West Ham given the rumoured interest from Liverpool.
90Min claim that Liverpool have held a long-standing interest in Bowen.
Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are both out of contract in 2023 and Liverpool could target another winger despite already signing Luis Diaz.
Bowen would fit the bill as a left-footer planing in from the right just like Salah, hence Liverpool’s interest.
West Ham will hope to get this new deal sorted before the summer window real gets into high gear, hopefully fending off Liverpool.
