West Ham plan £20m bid for ‘talented’ star who equalled Bruno Fernandes

West Ham want Emmanuel Dennis from Watford and are planning a £20 million bid for a man also targeted by Premier League rivals Newcastle United, as reported by The Mirror.
Reflecting on the negotiations that almost took the Nigeria international to West Brom in the summer of 2020, Dennis indicated that he saw the Baggies as something of a stepping stone to something ‘bigger’.
One wonders if he feels the same way about Watford. Especially after Roy Hodgson’s horror-show Hornets suffered the ignominy of relegation following just one miserable season back in England’s top-flight.

As pointed out by The Mirror, Dennis has four years left on the contract he signed last year, when joining Watford from Belgian giants Club Brugge for a bargain £3 million.
It would be a major surprise if the one-time Arsenal and Manchester United target is plying his trade against Reading, Bristol City and co next term, however, particularly with a number of Premier League clubs willing to offer Dennis a fresh start.
Newcastle are keen. West Ham appear to be at a more advanced stage though, with a £20 million bid in the offing.
Dennis’ agents will hold talks with the Watford hierarchy after their final game of the campaign, against Chelsea, this weekend.
Newcastle and West Ham want Emmanuel Dennis
The skilful, versatile Dennis, who can play out wide or in a more central role, was one of the few bright sparks in a dismal Watford season, contributing six assists and ten goals – one of which came against West Ham in December.
What’s more, the 24-year-old became only the sixth player in Premier League history to register five goals and five assists in 12 or fewer games in the competition.
He shares some rather illustrious company too, joining Eric Cantona, Jurgen Klinsmann, Arjen Robben, Andrey Arshavin and Bruno Fernandes in a very exclusive club (Opta).
“(Dennis) is a very talented player,” former Watford boss Claudio Ranieri said a few months ago. “He’s fast, has good skill, always runs straight to the goal. I love these kinds of players.”
So, by the way, does David Moyes.
In other news, Klopp has just pulled off a behind-the-scenes deal that may leave Salah delighted
