Tottenham join Manchester United in race to sign ‘world class’ player on free transfer
[ad_1]
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Axel Witsel as the midfielder prepares to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Tottenham picked up another vital win on Sunday, beating Burnley 1-0 to move back into the top four.
Arsenal can bump them back out again with a win over Newcastle United tonight but Tottenham are doing their job.
Tottenham may well have one set of targets in mind for Champions league qualification and another in mind if they miss out.
A surprise name is now being linked with a move to Tottenham with Witsel allegedly on the radar.

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Axel Witsel
German news outlet Der Westen report that Tottenham have joined the race to sign Borussia Dortmund man Witsel.
It’s suggested that Galatasaray, Manchester United and Juventus are also keen on Witsel.
The Belgian ace is out of contract this summer and Dortmund are seemingly ready to let him leave for nothing.
Witsel, 33, is an experienced performer that may just bring the know-how Antonio Conte wants as he seeks to make his Tottenham side a little more ‘streetwise’.
The Telegraph reported in April that Conte wants two new midfielders signed this summer.
Adding an experienced player like Witsel on a free transfer may just provide more experienced depth for Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Hailed as ‘world class’ by Dortmund’s outgoing CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke, Witsel has made a big impact at Dortmund in recent years.
The Belgian international – a teammate of Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Mousa Dembele in recent years – now seems ready for something new.
Witsel has played in Belgium, Portugal, Russia, China and Germany but the lure of the Premier League could be appealing now.
We know that Fabio Paratici loves a bargain – especially a free transfer judging off his time at Juventus – and Witsel may just fit the bill for Tottenham.
