TEN Sports Channel Live
Ten Sports HD is a 24 hour sports channel. It is managed by Karachi-based company Tower Sports Private Limited and is owned by UK-based company MSM Asia Limited, a subsidiary of Sony Corporation Japan. It mainly broadcasts Cricket, Football, MMA, Tennis.
On 1 April 2002, the Dubai-based Taj Television Company launched the channel Ten Sports in India and Pakistan.
In 2006, the Indian Essel Group bought the Ten Sports channel and made it a part of its Zee Network. However, Pakistan’s Ten Sports Channel was handed over to a company called Tower Two which was a subsidiary of Essel Group.
In 2016, Ten Sports was bought by MSM Asia Limited, a UK-based subsidiary of Japan’s Sony Corporation. MSM Asia formed a company called Tower Sports Pvt Ltd to manage Ten Sports in Pakistan.
Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) documents reveal that Tower Sports applied for the renewal of permission for the landing rights for Channel Ten Sports on June 29, 2018, as their permission was expiring at the end of that year. In December 2018, PEMRA granted Landing Right Permission (LRD) to Tower Sports for “Ten Sports 2” channel in Pakistan. In 2019, Ten Sports launched its website. In February 2020, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed Tower Sports to handle the broadcast production of the 2020 Pakistan Super League, the first edition of the PSL to be played entirely in Pakistan. On 5th July 2022, Ten Sports converted its transmission to high definition.
Ten Sports HD is one of the most popular sports channels in Asia. Many sporting events including cricket, football, MMA and tennis have broadcasting rights. In cricket, Ten Sports Pakistan has rights to Australia Cricket, England Cricket and Sri Lanka Cricket. In football, Ten Sports has the UEFA rights, including rights to the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Bundesliga. FA Cup rights. Ten Sports owns the UFC rights in mixed martial arts and also owns the rights to Pakistan’s most popular MMA. Tennis Ten Sports has the rights to the Australian Open. It also has the rights to the French Open.
