Richard Keys blames Mikel Arteta for one Arsenal incident vs Spurs

Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys seems to have a real problem with Mikel Arteta.

The BeIN Sports anchor labelled the Spaniard an ‘irritating man’ after Arsenal’s 3-1 win against Manchester United last month, and now, he’s once again taken a shot at the Gunners’ boss.

Indeed, Keys has placed the blame for Rob Holding’s red card squarely on Arteta’s shoulders, stating that the Arsenal boss should have substituted the defender before he received his second yellow card.

Unfortunately, the jibes didn’t stop there, Keys also labelled Arteta as ‘mini-me’ alluding to the fact that Keys believes the Arsenal boss to be nothing more than a second-rate Pep Guardiola.

No matter what you think of Mikel Arteta, we’re sure you can agree that Keys is wide of the mark here.

7 Footballers Who Were GENUINELY Irreplaceable

Rob Holding’s ill-discipline is to blame for the red card, not Arteta.

Yes, Holding was on a yellow and looking shaky, but if you took your centre-half off after half an hour every time they got booked, you’d barely have any substitutes left.

As Keys himself says, the penalty decision was a soft one, and with a half-fit Ben White the only option on the bench, subbing Holding would have been a rash and somewhat erratic decision.

To us at least, it looks as though Keys is just taking any chance he can to have a dig at Arteta.

The Spaniard didn’t have his best evening on Thursday, but not substituting Rob Holding wasn’t his biggest issue.
