Potential double Arsenal blow ahead of Tottenham clash now confirmed

Mikel Arteta has told Wednesday’s press conference – as per Football London – Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Ben White could miss Thursday’s clash against Tottenham. A huge blow, in one of the biggest NLD’s.

Arsenal currently sit in fourth and after Sunday’s 2-1 win over Leeds, they are four points of clear of Tottenham. However, they now have to travel to Spurs in what could be one of the most-decisive clashes in years.

Spurs come into the game after a solid 3-1 win over Leicester, and then an excellent performance against Liverpool at Anfield – in which Spurs were superb, and unlucky not to win. Arsenal have won four on the bounce.

But their display against Leeds on Sunday was not without blemish. The Gunners faced 10 men for more than an hour and only managed to win 2-1. Arteta says both White and Saka could be sidelined on Thursday.

“Thomas is still out, Kieran is still out, Ben is a doubt. We’ll have to assess him he’s feeling much better and Bukayo is the same,” Arteta said on Wednesday night, despite previously saying White is likely to be okay.

Arsenal duo White and Saka could miss Tottenham clash – big blow?

Having been without White for wins over West Ham and Arsenal, Rob Holding has proved that he can be a more-than-adequate replacement. But to be without Saka, is a huge blow ahead of Thursday’s clash.

Saka is a game-changer. One of the players Arsenal look to when they need a bit of magic. The chances are that either Emile Smith-Rowe or Nicolas Pepe will come in to replace him – but they are some way below Saka.
