Mob Psycho 100 season 3 is confirmed to release in October 2022

For the past couple of weeks, there have been a series of rumours that more information on the upcoming Mob Psycho season 3 anime series would soon be revealed.

Last week, the series’ official Japanese Twitter page shared that “MOB’s birthday is on May 12 which is just in a week’s time” adding that fans should “check out this Twitter account on the day…”

Today, May 12th, fans are celebrating the birthday of the iconic MC alongside the news that Mob Psycho season 3 will premiere in October 2022 as part of the Fall broadcasting slate!

The announcement included a new teaser trailer, see below, but sadly neither a specific date nor episode count has yet been revealed. That being said, fans can expect Mob Psycho 100 season 3 episode 1 to release on Crunchyroll on Monday, October 3rd or Monday, October 10th at around 8:30 AM Pacific Time – in accordance with the second season’s broadcast in 2019.

Similarly, fans can expect season 3 to include either 12 or 13 individual episodes. This is in line with the view that Mob Psycho is a one-slate broadcast and will contain the same number of episodes as prior seasons (12 and 13 respectively).

The series’ Japanese website was also updated to include the following preview:

“Mob, a boy who explodes when something reaches “100”.
He looks quite ordinary, but in fact he possesses powerful psychic powers.
He helps his master, a bogus psychic named Shinryu Reigen, with troublesome requests at his psychic consulting center.
Will there ever be a peaceful day for the mob, who wish for a normal youth?
With youth as the driving force, psychic powers run amok!
The world’s long-awaited third season of the series is in production!” –

Interestingly, fans had already expected season 3 to release in October thanks to information from one of its production staff on Twitter.

Yoshimichi Kameda is the character designer for the Mob Psycho 100 and may have accidentally revealed that the hit anime would return later this year, back in March.

Kameda had updated their bio on Twitter, @59033ihcimihsoy, to include: “I’m designing a great anime character! !! !! !! !! !! !! We are working hard! !! Broadcast in 2022! !!”

“This work can be said to be home to me. I’m really happy to be able to deliver this work to everyone by playing Mob again. I will do my best to express the charm of Mob Psycho 100!!!” – Setsuo Ito, via Mob Psycho Website.
