She appears on Kendrick’s new album
The British singer features on Kendrick Lamar’s new album Mr Morale & The Big Steppers.
She sings on the 17th track on the album, titled Mother I Sober, which is a slow piano ballad.
Kendrick opens the song with a rap in which he reflects on watching his mother being abused when he was just five years old.
“Mother cried, put they hands on her, it was family ties/ I hear it all, I should’ve grabbed a gun, but I was only five,” he raps solemnly.
Then, Beth’s voice appears for the short chorus, singing: “I wish I was somebody/ Anybody but myself.”
Kendrick returns with another long verse before the British singer repeats the two lines again.
