Johnny Depp’s sister is expected to testify as a witness
Johnny Depp’s sister is set to take the stand to testify in the actor’s defamation case.
Debbie reportedly appears on Heard’s list of potential witnesses and could therefore give evidence when the trial resumes, the Independent reports.
To testify means to make a solemn declaration under oath for the purpose of establishing a fact (as in a court), to make a statement based on personal knowledge or belief, to bear witness or to serve as evidence or proof, as per Merriam Webster‘s definition.
OK Magazine reports that this will be the first time Debbie Depp gets involved in the situation, unlike the on-screen star’s other sister, Christi Dembrowski, who took the stand in April to testify on behalf of her younger brother.
Film producer Dembrowski previously testified and reportedly recalled how Johnny’s late mother, Betty Sue Palmer, was abusive, but despite her violence, insisted her brother “never” laid a hand on their mother.
More about Debbie Depp
Debbie Depp is reportedly the stepsister of the Pirates of the Caribbean performer, sharing their mother Betty Sue Palmer, who died on 20th May 2016.
Unlike her movie-star brother, Debbie reportedly does not venture into the spotlight and is thought to live a private life away from the media.

Born on 10th May 1956, according to Gossip Biography, the 62-year-old has a daughter named Megan and a stepfather named John Christoper Depp. Bob Palmer is allegedly her real dad, who later separated from her birth mother.
Gossip Biography also states that Debbie lives in Lexington, Kentucky, working as a grade teacher.
Debbie also has another sibling named Daniel, a nephew named Jack and a niece named Lily-Rose – all of whom share the same last name, Depp.
The defamation case continues
The trial recently underwent a weeklong hiatus because the judge presiding over the case had to attend an unrelated conference, Independent reports.
Proceedings then resumed on Monday, 16th May, with closing arguments scheduled to take place on 27th May 2022.
Johnny Depp is suing Amber Heard for defamation because of an op-ed she published in the Washington Post in 2018. Heard is countersuing Depp.
The trial is set to continue.
