Kota Factory Season 3

Hit Indian comedy-drama Kota Factory has been officially renewed for Season 3 by The Viral Fever; Here’s what you need to know.

The Indian television industry has seen some significant progress over the past few years, both in terms of fan demand and overall quality of series. Arguably the biggest and best Indian series of the last few years is viral fever favorite Kota Factory.

Kota Factory Season 3

The comedy-drama first debuted on YouTube in 2019, and last year, made its highly-anticipated return via streaming service Netflix. Now, fans are looking forward to the future after the news of Kota Factory Season 3 officially leaked online.

Kota Factory Season 3 has been confirmed by the producers
After the return of Kota Factory last year, fans quickly enjoyed the five-episode second season and turned their attention to a possible third season.

Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait long before Kota Factory’s fate was revealed, with producer Raghav Subbu confirming that Season 3 was in development just days after the streaming release.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Subbu said that “We know how the story has progressed. What happens to the characters, what is each character’s journey. Who goes to IIT and who doesn’t.”

Kota Factory Season 3

While the announcement was welcomed by fans, many of us weren’t too surprised by the news of Kota Factory Season 3 moving forward from Season 2 due to its open ending and the international popularity of the series.

That emotional Season 2 finale is the most obvious indicator that the Kota story isn’t fully told. The Hindustan Times noted that the series “builds up to the entrance test that Vaibhav, Meena and the rest of the extended gang will eventually have to pass.”

Unfortunately, Netflix didn’t release their official viewership figures for their content at the time of Season 2’s release, but over 150 million views on YouTube were apparently enough for the streaming giant to purchase the broadcast rights for Season 2.

This not only demonstrates how successful the web series has been since it premiered in 2019, but also further proves that Quota Factory is one of the most popular titles in viral fever. The series also holds exceptional scores on various user-based feedback websites, including a remarkable 87% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 9.1/10 rating on IMDB – the latter of which has garnered over 68,000 reviews!

The second season may have received a decidedly mixed response from critics, with many giving the series three stars out of five, see more here.

However, considering Netflix’s expansion into original Indian content and the series’ popularity with fans around the world, it was only a matter of time before Kota Factory Season 3 was confirmed.

Probable Release Window for Quota Factory Season 3
While Kota Factory has officially been renewed, neither Netflix nor TVF has shared a targeted release date for season 3 – but we can make some predictions based on the production schedule of previous installments.

It was revealed that Netflix had acquired the international streaming rights for Season 2 in March 2021, signaling a surprisingly quick turnaround in production – both seasons are expected to be driven by a shortened number of five episodes.

The introduction of Netflix as a distributor will streamline production on the third season thanks to the streaming giant’s vastly available resources.

Overall, Quota Factory Season 3 is expected to return in the fall of 2022, although this has yet to be commented by Netflix or the production team for the epic series.
