Martin Keown has said on talkSPORT (10:11am, May 13, 2022) that the Tottenham Hotspur bench wanted foul for every time Arsenal players went into a challenge at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Arsenal legend made the observation while analysing the performance of the referees during the North London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal on Thursday evening.
Tottenham won the Premier League game 3-0.
There were a few controversial calls, including the sending-off of Arsenal central defender Rob Holding in the first half.

Keown said on talkSPORT (10:11am, May 13, 2022): “Every time there was a tackle, there was an inquest from the Spurs bench.”
Not a big deal
In our opinion, the Tottenham bench wanting the officials to give a foul for every Arsenal challenge was not a big deal.
It happens all the time in football matches.
And, let us not forget, it was the North London derby after all.
Did the action of the Tottenham bench affect the match officials in any way?
In our opinion, no.
Premier League referees are used to working under high pressure, so we do not think that Paul Tierney was affected in any way whatsoever.
The win for Tottenham has enhanced their chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League table this season, but Arsenal are still a point above them in fourth.
