Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has told Give Me Sport that Tottenham could sign Arnaut Danjuma – after speaking to people in his camp. Reports emerged over this month that Spurs are looking at Villarreal’s Danjuma.
Nigeria-born Danjuma, 25, has been in wonderful form this season, clocking up 16 goals in 34 games and laying on four assists. He joined Villarreal just last summer from Bournemouth, after a brilliant 20-21 Championship term.
Now, the race is hotting up to get him this summer. Liverpool have been strongly linked with Jurgen Klopp an admirer. Meanwhile, Newcastle are also said to be interested in luring the winger back to the Premier League.
90Min claimed earlier this month that Tottenham scouts were in attendance in both Champions League semi-final legs against Liverpool to watch Danjuma. Now, Bridge says he has spoken to Danjuma’s camp on his future.
“I’ve spoken to a few people in his camp recently and I just got that impression that they’re an ambitious group of people and he’s an ambitious man,” Bridge reported on Give Me Sport’s website.
“Villarreal, obviously, do amazing things in a small, little town, but if Emery is looking to strengthen next season, they’re a club that can maybe get one out of the door to bring five in. They might look to Danjuma.”

But, the catch is, that Danjuma would have to be happy sitting on the bench. Tottenham need back-up to Harry Kane and Danjuma would give them that. What makes a move sensible, is that Danjuma can also play out wide.
It means he not just forced to warm the bench and only a replacement for Kane. He can come on for Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski when needed, too. He has the ability to overtake Kulusevski on the right flank.
