Journalist says 26-year-old could be sold for £52m loss

Charles Watts has suggested that Arsenal ‘would love’ to sell Nicolas Pépé this summer and he could leave for as little as ‘£20 million’, as he told his own YouTube channel.
From that record-breaking £72 million transfer back in 2019 (Sky Sports), if Pepe is even sold for £20 million, and Arsenal will be lucky to do that, then they would still make a £52 million loss on the player.
The 26-year-old has only started five Premier League games this season – most recently in October, and has managed only one goal and one assist.

Overall, during his time in north London, Pepe has 16 goals and eight assists from 78 Premier League matches.
To put that into context, Bukayo Saka has 11 Premier League goals and six assists to his name this season alone.
Either way, this is what Football London journalist Watts shared about Pepe ahead of the summer transfer window.
“We all know there is a strong possibility that Nicolas Pepe will end up leaving Arsenal at the end of the season,” said Watts.
“He will only have two years left on his contract. It has been reported that there is interest from Sevilla. And he is not part of Mikel Arteta’s plans, is he? I think that’s clear by the lack of game time he gets.
“It’s not going to be easy (to sell him). That’s why he has switched agents now ahead of the summer transfer window.
“For Arsenal, they would love to move him on. I am sure if a decent offer of around £20 million, or £25 million, that’s pushing it, came in for Pepe, then I think Arsenal would accept it.”
A TRANSFER TO FORGET FOR ALL PARTIES
This is a transfer that has helped nobody and left Arsenal with a big financial hole in their pocket.
Whether Mikel Arteta guides the Gunners to Champions League football, or not, Pepe will surely be donning the colours of another club next season.
In truth, he needs to for the sake of his own career because he’s not pushing ahead of Saka anytime soon.
The Hale-End star is one of the first names on the teamsheet and is producing performances many expected from Pepe when he first arrived.
