Joel Matip says one player trains harder than anyone else at Liverpool
[ad_1]
Speaking on the FA Cup’s YouTube channel, Joel Matip has claimed that James Milner is the hardest trainer at Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp demands incredibly high standards from all of his players at all times, and, as you can imagine, everyone at the club is expected to give 100 per cent in training.
However, according to Matip, the one player who sets the standards in training is Milner, claiming that he’s an idol for everyone.

What’s been said?
Matip was asked who the hardest trainer in the squad is.
“I think Millie, he’s always there, he’s always absolutely ready, it doesn’t matter which session it is, he’s an idol for everyone there,” Matip said.
Matip was also asked which of his teammates he thinks could go on to be future managers, and Milner got another mention on that front.
“I’m not sure if they’d agree with me, but from my point of view it would be Hendo or Millie.”
Consummate professional
It’s not surprising at all to hear that Milner is the hardest worker at Liverpool. After all, you don’t stay at this level for 20 years unless you’re willing to put a shift in.
Milner may not be Liverpool’s most important player these days, but he’s still an incredibly valuable asset for the Reds and as Matip says, he’s a great role model behind the scenes.
Milner isn’t only one of the hardest workers at Liverpool, he’s one of the most hard-working footballers on the planet, and we have to applaud his longevity and commitment to the sport.
