Inside Fanny Serrano’s beauty and acting career as celebrity stylist dies at 72


Celebrity makeup artist and stylist Fanny Serrano has passed away at the age of 72, Designers Circle Philippines announced on Facebook.

Serrano was a well-known name in the beauty and entertainment industry, as well as a renowned public figure in the Philippines.

Fanny Serrano has died

Fanny Serrano has passed away aged 72, Designers Circle Philippines announced in a tribute on Facebook on Wednesday, May 11th.

“A sorrowful moment for the entire fashion and beauty industry. We lost a PIONEER, a GENIUS and a CREATIVE FORCE,” their tribute said. “But for us, Designers Circle Philippines, we lost our one and only ‘TF,’ Tita Fanny Serrano, our mentor, inspiration and friend.

“Rest in power and beauty, TF! We will be forever grateful and honored to have known a true Filipino icon in our lifetime.”

Serrano had a stroke in March 2021 and was put on a life support at the time. A cause of death hasn’t been confirmed to the media at the time of publication.

A look at his career

Serrano, real name Felix Mariano Fausto Jr, was born in 1948. He started out in the beauty field working as an assistant at a local salon in Manila and was later promoted to a makeup artist.  

Serrano made his big break in the showbiz world after doing the makeup of film legend Celia Rodriguez. He gained more popularity after landing other makeup and styling gigs with other celebrities, including actress and singer Sharon Cuneta.

After making a name for himself in the beauty industry, he stepped into the acting world and appeared in several films and television series.

Serrano’s best-known TV appearance is in the long-running series Maalaala Mo Kaya, as well as the films Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita and Tarima.
