Hugo Ekitike wants to join Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United
90min have reported that Newcastle are confident that they will soon finalise a deal for Reims striker Ekitike.
Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund all are reportedly keen on the 19-year-old striker.
Earlier this month, ESPN reported that Arsenal want to sign Ekitike.
However, it seems that Newcastle will win the race for the France Under-20 international striker.
90min have reported that ‘Ekitike is keen on a move to Newcastle and wants to be a part of the project currently underway at St James’ Park’.
The report has added that the teen striker ‘also appreciates the fact that Howe is a big believer in his talents’.
Newcastle wanted to sign Ekitike from Reims in the January transfer window.
In our opinion, it is very encouraging and exciting for Newcastle that an in-demand striker such as Ekitike wants to move to St. James’ Park.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are all massive names, but that the striker still wants to move to Newcastle and play under head coach Eddie Howe underlines the pulling power of the Magpies.
Ekitike has scored nine goals and given two assists in 14 Ligue 1 starts for Reims this season.
