Newcastle beat Arsenal 2-0 at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Monday evening.
Gary Neville on Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin v Arsenal
Neville said about Saint-Maximin on Sky Sports Premier League (8:54pm, May 16, 2022): “Saint-Maximin, we were saying in the first half, I would have hated to play against him. I think he would cause any defender nightmare, just keep continually running at them.”
Quality footballer
In our opinion, Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin is a quality player who was brilliant against Arsenal.
The winger’s pace and ability to run at defenders caused the Gunners problems.
As Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher noted, Saint-Maximin ran Takehiro Tomiyasu “ragged” at St. James’ Park before the Arsenal right-back went off injured.
The 25-year-old has scored five goals and given four assists in 30 Premier League starts for Newcastle this season.
In our view, Saint-Maximin can only get better in the coming years, as the Frenchman is still only 25.
