Everton want to sign Manchester City’s Gavin Bazunu this summer amid questions over the future of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Everton are inching closer to Premier League survival having claimed seven points from their last three games.

Frank Lampard will hope to get the job done in the coming weeks and then start to mould this Everton squad as he wants it.

There could be many changes at Everton this summer. Relegation battles aren’t what Everton want and there will be plenty of ins and outs.

One area of change for Everton could be in goal, with Bazunu now believed to be the chief target for the Toffees.

Everton want to sign Manchester City’s Gavin Bazunu

The Irish Independent report that Everton are eyeing a summer move to sign Bazunu.

It’s stated that the 20-year-old is keen to play first-team football and realises he isn’t going to get that with City.

Bazunu is coming off an impressive loan spell at Portsmouth, where he was hailed as ‘different class’ by Pompey’s Clark Robertson

The Irish talent was outstanding in League One but now seemingly thinks he is ready for major Premier League action.

Bazunu has been superb on the international stage with Ireland and seemingly wants to nail down the number one jersey ahead of Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher.

The report does though suggest that City would look into a buyback clause in any deal to sell Bazunu this summer.

Liverpool were allegedly looking into sign Bazunu earlier this season.

City would surely never sell to Liverpool, and Bazunu could instead end up on the blue half of Merseyside.

Jordan Pickford may leave Everton

Everton would need to convince Bazunu that he would be first-choice goalkeeper in order for him to move.

That would suggest that Everton see Bazunu as their number one of the future and not Jordan Pickford.

talkSPORT reported just last week that Everton are willing to cash in on Pickford to help fund other deals.

Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly keen on Pickford, though joining Newcastle would be controversial for the boyhood Sunderland fan.

Bazunu is a huge talent, but throwing him into a starring role at such a young age could be a gamble – especially when you already have a settled stopper in Pickford.
