Liverpool survived a major scare against Aston Villa on Tuesday night – and so did goalkeeper Alisson.

Jurgen Klopp’s side won 2-1 away to Villa Park to keep alive their Premier League title hopes.

The Reds have moved level on points with Manchester City at the summit of the Premier League standings.

It was a thrilling first half in the Midlands as Joel Matip equalised for Liverpool after six minutes, with Douglas Luiz opening the scoring earlier on.

But Klopp’s troops could’ve very easily had scored again during the opening 45 minutes.

Alisson, who was well outside his box, almost had a routine pass to Fabinho cut out by the pressing Ollie Watkins, but the Aston Villa striker couldn’t control the ball.

On another day, Watkins would’ve had an open goal from 40 yards and here’s how Jim Beglin reacted live on Optus Sport.

He said live on Optus Sport: “To be honest with you, he’s been so good at late that’s quite shocking. We’ve seen it in him in the past. Credit to Watkins but he doesn’t need to go anywhere near Fabinho.”
