Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:32pm, May 16, 2022) that Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United will get relegated, and Frank Lampard’s Everton and Burnley will be safe.
The former Liverpool defender believes that Leeds will go down from the Premier League to the Championship, and that Everton and Burnley will stay up.
Leeds are 17th in the Premier League table at the moment with 35 points from 37 matches.
Burnley are third from bottom with 34 points from 36 matches, while Everton are currently 16th with 36 points from 36 games.
Carragher on Leeds, Everton and Burnley relegation battle
Carragher said on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports Premier League (7:32pm, May 16, 2022): “I think Everton will be okay, I do believe that.”
The Sky Sports pundit added: “I fear for Leeds. I think Burnley can get something from their last two games. I would just say that Leeds will go down.”
In our opinion, Leeds are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
The West Yorkshire outfit have a goal difference of -38 and also have just one more game to play this season.
Both Everton and Burnley have two games to play.
Leeds’s destiny is not in their hands.
However, hope springs eternal.
Burnley are not in great form at the moment, and Everton are fighting for survival because they have not been good at all this season.
And anything, absolutely anything, can happen on the final day of the season.
