Bob Dylan DM meant everything to celebrity superfan Post Malone


This week Post Malone gushed about his appreciation of singer-songwriter Bob Dylan as he revealed they had been chatting over DM on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Fans of the artist will know that Post Malone is a longtime fan of Dylan and has mentioned him in interviews across his musical career.

Post Malone grew up listing to Bob Dylan

Post Malone is a longtime Bob Dylan fan and previously admitted he began listening to the singer’s music when he was around 14/ 15.

He also covered Dylan in his early career as he sang his 1963 track Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right on his now inactive YouTube channel.

Elsewhere in a past interview with Newonce, Post said that he also sometimes refers back to his discography when he’s in his feels as he admitted it is his go-to cry music.

The artist even has tattoos dedicated to Bob Dylan

Post Malone has also shared his dedication to Bob Dylan in the form of a tattoo and is said to have a total of two inks of the artist.

As per Nylon, Post Malone has a portrait of Bob Dylan on his knuckles alongside some of his other musical role models, Kurt Cobain, Elvis Presley and John Lennon.

Fans may be more familiar with his second tattoo of Dylan’s face on his left arm, which the artist has mentioned many times in interviews over the years.

Post Malone admits Bob Dylan has slid into his DM’s

Appearing on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon this week, Post Malone revealed he and Bob Dylan have been “chatting” over social media.

When asked if he had ever met Dylan, the 26-year-old said he hadn’t but claimed the hitmaker had “kind of slid into” his DM’s.

While he remained coy about what they had been discussing, Post Malone has previously said he has had pointers from Dylan on his music in the past.

Talking to Paper in 2017, Post claimed Dylan’s grandson had played some of his music to him, and Dylan had said he needed to work on his lyrics.

However, Post seemed to be unaffected by the comment at the time as he went on to add: “He’s had a long, sordid career and life and he’s a god and he can say whatever he wants.”
