Banglavision TV
Banglavision is a Bangladeshi Bangla-language satellite and cable television channel owned by Shamal Bangla Media Limited, which officially started broadcasting on 31 March 2006. Its name is a portmanteau of “Bangla” and “Television”. Banglavision is located at Bir Uttam CR Dutt Road, Banglamotor, Dhaka

Banglavision applied for a broadcasting license on 30 May 2004, which was granted to them by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission on 31 January 2005. On the same day, Baisakhi Television and Channel 1 also got their licences. The channel officially went on air on 31 March 2006 with the slogan “Drishti Jure Desh”, which aimed to showcase Bengali culture to the audience.
Banglavision originally broadcast via the Telstar 10 satellite, but later switched to broadcasting using Appstar-7. It later began broadcasting through the Bangabandhu-1 satellite. On 12 March 2012, cable operators in many areas around Bangladesh imposed a temporary blackout on Ekushey Television, unrelated to Ekushey Television, after both channels reported details of BNP rallies.
