August 28 India-Pakistan Set Asia Cup match

The 2022 Asia Cup schedule has been announced with Sri Lanka taking on Afghanistan in the tournament opener in Dubai on Saturday, August 27. The next day will be India vs Pakistan, also at the Dubai International Stadium.

Asian Cricket Council chief Jai Shah shared the schedule on Twitter.

The tournament, originally to be played in Sri Lanka was shifted to the United Arab Emirates a few days ago following unrest in Sri Lanka. Ten of the thirteen games, including the final, will be played in Dubai, while the rest will be played in Sharjah.

India, Pakistan and a qualifier will be in Group A while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan will be in Group B. The top-two teams from each group will play in a further ‘Super 4’ round, which means it’s more likely to happen here. India-Pakistan match in second round. The final is scheduled for September 11.
