Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are leading the race for Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, but AC Milan are planning to make an approach, according to Calcio Mercato.
Calcio Mercato have reported that Arsenal, Juventus and AC Milan all are interested in signing Jesus from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
Newcastle United, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are keen on the Brazilian as well, but it is Arsenal who are still the favourites, according to the report.
The Italian news outlet have added that AC Milan, who could win Serie A this season, could make contact with Manchester City over a transfer for the 25-year-old Brazil international this week and are working on an offer.
AC Milan over Arsenal for Gabriel Jesus?
In our opinion, Arsenal could miss out on Gabriel Jesus to AC Milan if they do not qualify for the Champions League.
The Gunners’ defeat to Newcastle United on Monday evening means that Tottenham Hotspur now have the advantage in the race for the top four.
Milan will play in the Champions League next season and are back to being a force again in Italy.
Jesus – valued at £60 million by City, according to journalist Miguel Delaney has reported in his Reading the Game newsletter in The Independent last week – could be tempted to make the move to Milan and be part of a team that are ready to win major trophies right away.
