Jürgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, Patrick Vieira, Thomas Frank and Eddie Howe made up the five-man shortlist, but in our view, Moyes should be baffled at his exclusion.

What’s the story?

Well, we simply cannot understand how the 59-year-old has been left out.

The £62,000-a-week tactician proved that last season was no fluke, as he looks set to guide West Ham to another top-seven finish after ending last term in sixth place.

Moyes also ensured the Hammers didn’t waste their Europa League spot.

The Scot guided the east Londoners to the semi-final of the competition, where they recently suffered defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

West Ham did so playing a ruthless brand of football, and it speaks volumes that Moyes was able to ensure his side remained competitive in the Premier League, despite regular midweek action.

Of course, we understand that this particular award is exclusive to efforts in the Premier League, but even in that respect, Moyes deserves to be there.

West Ham can get even better under David Moyes

In our view, what makes Moyes special is that he’s achieved all he has at West Ham with very little depth.

The Irons have no competition for Michail Antonio, few midfielders of Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice’s quality to deputise, and another left-back wouldn’t go amiss either.

It’s clear for all to see that West Ham can get even better under Moyes, which should fill the London Stadium faithful with excitement.

Hopefully, David Gold and David Sullivan back Moyes in the transfer market this summer, and also ensure nobody leaves.

If they can manage that, then next season could be even more successful.
